December 31 2009

Good morning and God bless you for being here at my blog. I'm new to this so please bear with me.
Today I am so grateful for all that has happened in this past year. I have returned to the Church of my raising and re-connected with God. He has blessed me in so many ways and I am so thankful. I hope that all of us have a wonderful new year in 2010 and that health and happiness follow. God bless you and keep you. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Gratitudes

I've been leaving a "Gratitude" note on my Facebook page each morning since sometime in November. I am so grateful for so very much. I am more than blessed and I may move my "Gratitudes" to this location. It all started when a friend of mine said he'd been challenged to post something he was grateful for each day until Thanksgiving and I determined that I wanted to take it a step further. I hope to post one each and every day, sometime, preferably first thing each morning. I will try to keep up with some of the other things going on in my life also.

TCE week-end!

I'm so doggone sad!!!! :(( I got really sick in the last 5 minutes of the Saturday concert, before the Christmas Parade too. Then even sicker on Sunday, missed greeting, Sunday School, Choir, lunch, TCE Sunday evening concert and sat and wept feeling sorry for myself. I'm a mess over this. I guess this was God's way of slowing me down. It worked! I didn't! It is now Monday evening and I went to the doctor today to find out it is only a stomach virus and I will live. Now I have to work twice as hard to catch up with myself but carefully. Wednesday is when I can go out amongst them again and that means I'll be at the Caring Center on Wednesday morning, hopefully and thankfully. It will be the last opportunity to serve our fellow man until after the New Year commences.
I looked at the videos that Eric has posted about previous Missioary trips and ones to Falls Creek and I'm really pumped about going to Poland in March. I already was but this only added fuel to the fire.
I'll be glad to be past this virus thing, it's been a true thorn in my side.
Hope someone is looking at this besides me.

Losing Floyd!

Our friend Floyd Botts passed away on Tuesday morning after a lifetime of alcoholism mixed with diabetes. He straightened up his act a little these last couple of years but alas, it was kind of late. He fell and broke his arm this past summer and the hospital said it would have been more than his body could have stood to have set it. He leaves 3 of his own children and a couple of step-children and a sweet young wife, LaKrisha, 31 years young. Floyd is 55 and resting comfortably now for the first time in a long time. There was a viewing today and several of us braved a torrential rain storm to go to his "viewing". There will be a memorial service at his home this week-end.
I pray that he is gone to Heaven and resting there. He is a dear friend and I so loved to mess with him and tease him lots. I'll miss teasing him. He has a group of friends that will miss him also. He held a special place in my heart and always will.
